What we collect when you ask for a price or book a job, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated October 2026.
Who we are
Edinburgh Clearance Crew Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC897848), registered office 4 Flat 1 Gilmours Entry, Edinburgh EH8 9XL. We are responsible for your personal information. Any questions: info@edinburghclearancecrew.co.uk or 0131 560 2692.
What we collect
- Your name, phone number, email address and postcode or address.
- What needs clearing, access details, and any photos you send us.
- Job and payment records: what we did, when, what you paid, and the waste transfer note for your job.
- Messages between us by phone, email, WhatsApp or text.
Why we use it
- To quote and do the job you asked for: pricing, booking, turning up, and getting paid.
- To meet our legal duties: waste transfer notes must be kept for two years, and financial records for six.
- To run the business sensibly: for example, a follow-up to check the job went well or to ask for a review. You can tell us to stop at any time.
We never sell your details, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
Who else sees it
Only the services we use to run the business: our email, phone and messaging providers (including WhatsApp), our customer records system, our bank and card payment provider, and our accountant. If the law requires it, for example a request from SEPA or the police, we may have to share job records.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become a job: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Waste transfer notes: two years, as the law requires.
- Invoices, receipts and payment records: six years, as the law requires.
Cookies
This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them, as with most websites.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (unless the law says we must keep it), or object to us using it. Email info@edinburghclearancecrew.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, but please talk to us first so we can put it right.
